System well-suited to weight loss

System well-suited to weight loss

By BARBARA WARD

The old saying "a moment on the lip, a lifetime on the hip," becomes frighteningly familiar to us all as the years roll by.

It is a well-known and widely acknowledged fact that the older we get, the harder it is to keep in shape and lose those unwanted pounds. And even if we manage to achieve a modicum of success, how often does the weight seem to go from the face but not around the middle, despite countless crunches, jogging or endless sessions in the gym?

How many times do we try to convince ourselves that last summer’s clothes must have shrunk in the wash, or that the labels we wear are on the small side for the size they represent?

But here is some heartening news for those determined to look and feel good this summer. Vacutone, run by Sally Yates in Egmanton, could be the answer.

I decided to try this new concept of weight loss - a vacuum system that goes hand in hand with sensible eating - and I was, without question, pleased with my results.

The loss of weight, albeit modest, was a bonus, but the gaining of a flatter stomach and trimmer waist made the visits worthwhile.

Sally's studio, set in beautiful rural surroundings, is a pleasure to visit.

It is in a converted barn separate from her farmhouse home. It is light and airy and has the added benefit of a television to help to pass the time and there are state of the art shower facilities to enjoy after the treatment.

Sally tried Vacutone originally to get back into shape after having a baby. She lost two stone in weight and has kept her new-look figure now for two years.

Her success gave her the inspiration to buy the equipment, acquire the necessary training and set up the business.

The 12-session programme uses the Vacunaut system, which is a vacuum therapy targeting fat in the stomach area.
Each 40-minute session involves wearing what is, for all intents and purposes, a wet suit.

The suit has a network of chambers in the stomach area, which facilitate the burning of fat and the break down of fatty deposits.

But the burning question is: how does the flatter stomach appear?

When the exercise begins on the treadmill the vacuum suit ensures that the fatty acids from the stomach and hip areas are used specifically for energy production. Sally determines the level of exercise based on age and fitness level of the client.

Walking on the treadmill is kept at a brisk pace, but Sally ensures that the client’s heart rate stays within a certain level throughout the session.

First of all the low pressure sucks the blood into the affected skin and fat tissues. The change from low to high pressure accelerates the transport of fat enriched blood to the muscles being exercised.

The fatty acids are then burnt off as fuel for movement so that 80% of the fat breakdown occurs in the stomach and hip areas.

Technical though it sounds, the effects are dramatic and long-lasting but, more importantly, do not involve surgery.
The full programme costs £350 plus £25 for an undersuit to be worn under the vacuum suit.

The price includes all nutritional advice, including healthy menu ideas for a varied eating programme and a health and fitness assessment.

There is an initial free consultation to ensure clients are suitable for the treatment.

Sally also has available the Hypoxi-training machine which combats fat on the bottom, hips and thighs.

It might be that days of wearing a bikini are not over yet and, in this case, the proof of the pudding is certainly in the eating.

TAKING STEPS TO SLIMNESS: Mrs Michelle Stockley (31) of Retford wears the vacuum suit as she takes exercise on a treadmill, supervised by Sally Yates. 050307MW3-3.
