Category 2 : Champion in Sports
A sports champion is someone who pursues their goals and seeks to maximise their potential to the fullest, overcoming any obstacles that get in the way; it is an individual who has achievements in the sporting arena, or who has worked to enable others to achieve.

Category 3 : Champion Teacher
Who pours their life into their work with children or young people? They could be a nursery teacher, primary school or secondary school teacher. They may be a youth worker or classroom assistant. They make a positive difference to the lives of the children or young people they invest in.

A student who has overcome obstacles or excelled in their learning

Category 5 : Champion Volunteer
A volunteer often does the small, menial tasks free of charge that no-one notices have been done. Yet they are essential to the running of many organisations and charities. Do you know someone who works tirelessly and consistently as a volunteer, with a smile on their face and a cheery attitude, quietly getting on with their work - a Champion Volunteer?

Category 6 : Champion Carer
A person who goes above and beyond the call of duty in caring for others

Category 7 : Champion Community Organisation
There are many needs in our community, and thankfully there are many organisations set up to help meet those needs. Perhaps you have been the recipient of the care and compassion, or direction and guidance that many of these organisations and charities offer; if so, why not nominate one of them to receive this award?

Category 8 : Champion Child 0-11 years
A child who makes a real difference to their class or community group. Whether they are raising money for charity, encouraging, achieving, motivating or volunteering, they are real stars - why not recognise them by nominating them for this award?

Category 9 : Champion Young Person 11-18 years
It’s a misconception but young people are often seen as the cause of many of society' s problems - however the majority are actually valuable members of their communities, making a great contribution to those around them. Do you know a young person like this - someone who stands out from the crowd because of their compassion, determination, helpfulness, or success despite setbacks?

Category 10 : Champion in Retirement
They say life begins at 60 - which is why those who are no longer in paid work are very often incredibly valuable members of our community, inspiring others. Retirement hasn' t become an end; it' s become the beginning of a new sense of purpose and direction. Nominate one of these people who are Champions in Retirement.
