BROADCASTER and writer Rachel Agnew was the guest speaker at a Ladies’ Day on Monday in aid of Beaumond House Community Hospice, Newark.

The event, in the Cedric Ford Pavilion at Newark Showground, was organised by hospice volunteers Molly Sykes and Sheila Drummond.

It raised more than £6,000.

Stalls, included cakes and produce, kitchen goods, jewellery and gifts.

An auction raised about £425.
