Carer at Tuxford Manor wins award at the Great British Care Awards
A “compassionate and kind” carer has been awarded a top award aged just 18.
Sienna O’Neil, a carer at Tuxford Manor, Tuxford, was presented with the The Care Home Worker Award in the East Midlands at the Great British Care Awards.
When the 18-year-old first joined the care home, she started as an activities co-ordinator — however, she followed in her mum’s footsteps and decided to become a carer.
The care home described her as being compassionate, kind and eager to learn.
A spokesperson from Tuxford Manor said: “Our lovely residents adore her at Tuxford Manor Care Home.
“Sienna is setting the bar for the next generation of carers, her maturity and empathy just ooze out of her and we are so proud to have her as one of our team.
“Sienna has followed in her mum’s footsteps and as you can imagine her family along with everyone at Tuxford Manor are very proud of what she has achieved.”
