A housing team cycled 50 miles from Nottingham to Newark to fundraise for the homeless.

They cycled south of the river, to Muskham View at the supported apartments for older people in Newark.

The housing team will be taking part in lots of fundraising activities this month and aims to raise £5,000 for the charity.

Claire Jolliff, ride organiser, said: “This charity aligns with our core values as we believe everybody deserves a safe and affordable place to live.

“This 50-mile cycle ride was a challenge as many had not completed this distance or been on a bike for years. I’m sure there will be a few sore bodies this week.”

The group is appealing for public donations through its just giving page.

“Over 220,000 households in Britain are currently facing the worst forms of homelessness.

"We hope that the funds raised will support the great work that Crisis do to help those experiencing homelessness,” added Claire.
