A virus positive

It's ironic that after a ten-year campaign, it’s taken the coronavirus to motivate the highway authorities into closing King Street in Southwell to traffic and to institute a 20mph speed limit.
It is a pity it’s taken such an extreme event for action to have taken place but, now that the new limit is established, we urge all councillors to join with us in demanding it’s retention as the permanent default speed restriction through the town.
By so doing they will enhance Southwell’s appeal as a place to visit and shop and help restore economic vibrancy to the town centre. — JOHN LIGHTWOOD (pictured with Barbara Cray) 20’s Plenty Action Group, Southwell.
