A1 closed in both directions between A607 at Grantham and B1174 at Little Ponton

The A1 has reopened after a serious incident.

The road has reopened after it was shut in both directions between the A607 near Grantham and Little Ponton junctions.

Lincolnshire Police were dealing with a report of a concern for safety, leading the road to be shut throughout rush hour.

A serious accident last night near Colsterworth led to the closure of the road, until around 5am this morning.

An air ambulance landed on the carriageway.
