A46 remains closed from A617 to A6097 between Newark and Bingham following overnight incident

UPDATE: The road has now reopened

A major road remains closed following an incident overnight.

National Highways has warned that the A46 southbound between Newark and Bingham is closed as investigations continue into a road traffic collision on the road.

The collision, believed to involve three vehicles, was reported at around midnight.

The closure is in place on the A46, from A617 to A6097, and is not expected clear until around 2.30pm this afternoon (November 24)

A diversion is currently in place to bypass this stretch of the A46.
