The Newark Advertiser partners with Radio Newark to bring daily news bulletins
The Advertiser and Radio Newark have formed a new partnership to bring the latest news from our area to the airwaves.
Keen listeners of the volunteer-run radio station will have noticed local news bulletins have started to appear on weekday mornings and afternoons.
Each day, reporters from the Advertiser news team compile the most relevant and interesting news stories for the people of Newark and surrounding areas.
Operations director at Radio Newark, Phil Johnson, said: “We are thrilled to partner with the Newark Advertiser to provide a bespoke local radio news service on Radio Newark. As a wholly volunteer-staffed community radio station, our diligent presentation team is passionate about everything Newark but is not professionally qualified to provide such a service to our town.
“The station has been very keen to work with the Advertiser on this, and as their parent company, Illife, already has radio interests in the south of England, it made perfect sense for us to launch this service here in Newark.”
Newark Advertiser editor Sharon Hodkin said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Radio Newark to bring the latest news to local listeners. We feel it is an ideal match for us and look forward to delivering our news to an even wider audience.”
Listeners can catch the news bulletins by tuning their radios to 107.8FM, DAB, using a smart speaker app, or by listening online through the Radio Newark website.
The Advertiser’s news briefings will following the national news bulletins at 7am, 8am, and 9am, as well as 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm in the afternoons.
