Mayor of Rushcliffe, Sue Mallender, is aiming to go carbon neutral
The new Mayor of Rushcliffe, Sue Mallender, aims to conduct the role in a carbon neutral and zero waste manner over the next 12 months.
She accepted the position from previous incumbent Christine Jeffreys in an online council meeting.
Sue, who represents Lady Bay, aims to attend as many of her civic duties as possible when it is safe to do so by walking, cycling or public transport.
She said: “It is an honour to have assumed this role and represent over 115,000 people across the borough in what continues to be challenging times.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to engage with our communities in the year ahead, whether in person safely or virtually.”
Tina Combellack was elected deputy mayor.
