Thousands flocked to Newark Showground over the weekend for the spectacle of the Nottinghamshire County Show.
The annual event gave visitors a chance to experience the best that farming and rural life has to offer, with farmers and independent businesses from across the county coming together in one big celebration.
Organised by the Newark and Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society, it was a day to remember as the sun shone and fun filled the air.
Heavy Horses in the Main Ring
From exciting entertainment in the main ring, and displays of vintage and modern farming equipment, to craft markets and food stalls selling local produce, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
It was also an opportunity to get up close and personal with a whole host of farm animals, from pigs, sheep and goats, to cows, horses and donkeys.
Meanwhile, farmers showcased a variety of rare breeds, all strutting their stuff as they competed for the coveted best-in-show rosettes.
In the community zone a number of groups and organisations gave visitors a glimpse at some of the important work they do across the county through engaging and educational activities.
At the same time performers, bands, and musicians kept the crowds entertained.
Elsewhere, crafters, cooks and gardeners had their chance to show off in the ‘Make, Bake and Grow’ section, with prizes awarded for stunning floral displays, cake competitions, home-grown vegetables and even painting.
Now begins the countdown to next year’s show, which has already been announced will return on May 10, 2025.
