The Minster School, Southwell, celebrates student achievements at annual prizegiving evening





A school’s annual prizegiving ceremony has seen the outstanding achievements of its pupils celebrated.

The Minster School, Southwell, held its Prizegiving Evening on Thursday, September 12, to celebrate the achievements of the past year at a joyous occasion filled with pride and recognition.

The evening’s guest speaker was Andy Wolfe, the executive director of education for the Church of England. He delivered an inspiring address, emphasising the importance of dedication, resilience, and faith, and his words were said to have resonated deeply with the pupils, parents, and staff in attendance.

Headteacher Ben Chaloner expressed his admiration for the pupils’ hard work and accomplishments.

“Tonight, we gather to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students across all year groups. This is an evening that is testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent that many of our students have demonstrated across the spectrum of academics, sports, music, drama, and many other areas,” he said.

“We are extremely proud of all our students and their successes.”

The Prizegiving Evening was an event filled with applause, heartfelt speeches, and a strong sense of community, which not only celebrated individual successes but also highlighted the collective spirit and talent of The Minster School.

The school has offered congratulations to all the prize winners and particularly best wishes to those leaving The Minster School as they embark upon further study at universities, conservatoires, or college, begin apprenticeships or start employment.
