Confirmed coronavirus cases in Newark and Sherwood reaches 1,044 today (Wednesday, October 14) says Public Health England




Thirty seven new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood according to Public Health England, taking the total to 1,044.

Ashfield 1,082 (up 45) Bassetlaw 942 (up 16) Broxtowe 1,175 (up 42) Gedling 1,002 (up 60) Mansfield 684 (up 19) Newark and Sherwood 1,044 (up 37) Rushcliffe 1,140 (up 55) Nottingham 6,578 (up 493) Nottinghamshire (up 274).

Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed on Monday the whole of Nottinghamshire had been given high risk status in the new national system of coronavirus restrictions.

It means a ban on mixing between households indoors will officially come into force today (Wednesday). The rule of six will continue to be in place outdoors, including private gardens.

Shops, pubs and restaurants will be allowed to remain open.

According to the latest public data ­— 634,920 patients in the UK have tested positive and 43,018 people have died.
