Newark and Sherwood District Council unanimously voted to adopt International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism and Alliance Against Anti-Gypsyism (AAAG)’s definition of anti-gypsyism
Councillors voted unanimously to adopt the working definitions of antisemitism and anti-gypsyism to help eliminate prejudice in Newark and Sherwood.
At a full council meeting, council leader David Lloyd moved and Paul Peacock seconded a motion that has seen the council adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism.
Robert Jenrick, Newark MP and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, wrote to all local authorities encouraging them to formally do so back in January.
