Appeal after report of assault on woman in Newark

Officers are appealing for witnesses and information after a report of a woman being assaulted in Newark.

The 34-year-old woman woke up at home, in the early hours of Saturday June 9, with significant facial injuries.

She stated that she was walking along Hatton Gardens, between 5am and 7am, after visiting her friend. She heard footsteps behind her before she was pushed over.

She woke later in a considerable amount of pain and was taken to hospital where it was found she has multiple facial fractures.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or anyone who has any information about what happened is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 778 of 9 June 2018, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
