Romanian man dies at his home in Yorke Drive, Newark leaving behind pregnant wife and two children
A fundraising campaign has been launched to help a family return a young father’s body to his homeland after his sudden death at the age of 34.
Romanian Lucian Andrei Micu died of a suspected stroke at his home in Yorke Drive, Newark, last week, leaving behind his pregnant wife, Crina Daila, and two young children.
The family are now trying to raise money for his body to be returned home to Targu Neamt to be closer to his father and other relatives.
A friend of the family, Bianca Horecica, set up a GoFundMe page to help the campaign.
It has so far raised more than £7,000 towards its £8,500 target.
Crina Daila, who is expecting the couple’s third child in August, found Lucien dead on the bed at the home they shared with their children, Kevin, 6, and Leah, 2.
They had lived in Newark for five years.
“He was a good and a strong man. He was everything for us. A good friend, good father, good husband, I can’t believe this happened,” said Crina.
“This is very hard. I don’t know how to explain it but sometimes I think that he will come back. Like this is just a nightmare.
“It is hard but this is life, what can I do? Nothing. No one can replace him.”
“I feel terrible. I can’t sleep during the night, I can’t eat. It is very very hard for me but I try to stay strong for my children.”
