Appeals after teenager suffers serious head injuries in Girton assault

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in Girton which left an 18-year-old man with a fractured skull and fractured eye socket.

The victim was in the area of Girton Sailing Club, which is on Gainsborough Road in Girton, when he was attacked by a group of people.

The incident happened between 6pm on Sunday August 5 and 2am on Monday August 6.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Police are looking to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or who knows about a vehicle that was involved in a crash on the A1133 through Girton which happened earlier on Sunday.

The car was later found parked at the scene of the assault.

Anyone who has any information is urged to call the police on 101, quoting incident number 60 of 6 August 2018, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
