Newark police arrest man near Northgate Retail Park over theft of motorcycle




Police have arrested a man over the theft of a motorcycle from secure industrial compound in Newark.

Officers were called during Friday night and found the suspect and bike on the tow path near Northgate Retail Park.

He tried to escape but was found hiding in undergrowth and arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle.

Police were helped on the scene by police dog Kobi.

The man was also found to be wanted for recall to prison, meaning once dealt with for the theft offence he will be taken straight back to prison.
