...as does her ballet
It was a double success for young musician winner Poppy Brewell (above) who has been chosen to perform with the English Youth Ballet in Nottingham.
Poppy (10) of St Martin’s Close, Stubton, will take part in three performances of Giselle at the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, on August 1 and 2.
Poppy, a member of the Charlotte Hamilton School of Dance, Balderton, was chosenafter a two-hour audition at the Royal Concert Hall in February.
She was among those chosen from about 250 youngsters, aged eight to 18, who live within 100 miles of Nottingham.
Poppy, who has been dancing since the age of three, learns ballet, tap, theatre craft and cheerleading.
She will take part in 11 six-hour sessions and two dress rehearsals before the performances, which feature professional adult dancers.
Poppy’s mother, Mrs Jacqueline Brewell, said Poppy had chosen to miss a school trip to France and the national cheerleading championships in Telford to take part in the ballet.
Mrs Brewell said: “It is a chance in a lifetime and Poppy lives for music and dance.”
