Trial of Southwell plastic surgeon Dr Peter Brooks, charged with attempted murder of a former colleague at Halam Hill in 2021, is set to begin on Monday, March 3, at Loughborough Crown Court
The trial of a plastic surgeon accused of attempted murder is set to start next week.
The case of Dr Peter Brooks, previously of Landseer Road, Southwell, will begin next Monday (March 3) at Loughborough Crown Court.
It follows long delays to the case which was first brought before the court in 2021.
Dr Brooks remains remanded into custody charged with the attempted murder of a former colleague, Graeme Perks, following an incident at Mr Perks’ home at Halam Hill on January 14, 2021.
Dr Brooks is also charged with attempted arson with intent to endanger life, and possession of a knife.
A pre-trial hearing was held at Nottingham Crown Court today, the contents of which are prohibited from publication.
The Advertiser previously reported that Dr Brooks was charged with attempted murder, and that he had elected to represent himself.
An initial trial date was set for January 2022, however, was adjourned on multiple occasions.
The trial was eventually able to go ahead in July 2022, but was later called off. Further adjournments to rearranged trial dates took place in May 2023 and April 2024.
The latest trial date is set for Monday (March 3), at Loughborough Crown Court.
