Bank holiday to mark funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will affect Newark and Sherwood District Council services including bin collections

The bank holiday due to take place a week on Monday to mark Queen Elizabeth II's funeral will mean changes to several public services.

Newark and Sherwood District Council has stated that bin collections due to take place on Monday September 19 will not go ahead.

The bins will instead be picked up early, on Saturday September 17. These changes include trade waste bins.

The council ask that residents ensure their bins are out and ready for collection on Saturday instead of Monday.

Disruption to other services includes a closure of the council offices and telephone lines — which will re-open on Tuesday September 20.

If a resident is in need of an emergency repair during the bank holiday, they can call the out of hours number on 0800 561 0010.
