Reader's letter: Belated greeting

My wife’s birthday was on Monday, November 22, but she was upset when she only received half the birthday cards she was expecting.

However, the next day she received all the missing cards. They were all posted on November 18.

What is happening to first class post?

If they cannot deliver on time in November I hate to think about Christmas cards in December.

I wonder if we will have to post our Christmas cards by December 14 to ensure delivery by December 24? ­— M. Marvin, Balderton.
