Angells fisheries in Newark, Nottinghamshire short listed for Peter Hill Award by Middleton Foods
A business has been shortlisted for the inaugural Peter Hill Awards.
The award was launched by Middleton Foods in memory of its late CEO Peter Hill and Newark fish and chip shop Angell’s Fisheries has made the list of finalists.
“We're absolutely honoured to be listed as one of six Finalists in The Peter Hill Award 2023," said Sophie and Steven Angell, of Angell’s Fisheries. "Since starting our journey we have been overwhelmed at the amount of help and support within the fish and chip industry.
"This has been in a variety of guises from like-minded shop owners sharing knowledge and experience to leading suppliers giving us key guidance on products.
"We wouldn't be at this stage today without their support.
"As a newcomer, we are extremely grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank Middleton Foods for organising this special award.
"We wish all the best to the other five Finalists.”

The Winner and Runners-Up of The Peter Hill Award will be announced sometime today, (Thursday).
The Winner will receive prizes worth over £10,000 which include £1,000 worth of Middleton Foods stock, the design of their own label bespoke
batter mix, two places at the KFE School of Frying Excellence, two places on the NFFF Fish Frying course, one-to-one ForkedUp training with Calum Richardson for 3 months, and two tickets to the Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Awards 2024 (with hotel accommodation and travel expenses).
Each of the Runners-Up will win £100 worth of Middleton Foods stock.

Middleton Foods said they wanted to keep their great friend Peter’s memory alive which was the behind creating The Peter Hill Award.
They added that the award reflects Peter’s passion for his beloved fish and chip industry, and is a true legacy to Peter.
