A bike marking event on the weekend saw bicycle owners line up to have their rides marked with anti-pick barcodes by police.
The event which was held at Southwell Leisure Centre saw several people take advantage of the initiative.
The bikes were also registered with the National Cycle Database so if owners are unfortunate enough to have their bike stolen, it is easier for police to trace and return it when recovered.
"We had a good turnout for the event at Southwell Leisure Centre when we marked several bikes," said a spokesman for the Nottinghamshire Police.
"We will update the public when we can run the event again."
