Reader's letter: Booster issues

More news, no ads

My wife and I were due for a booster covid injection. I hadn’t heard anything so I telephoned 119.

I was told we hadn’t come up on their records so I was told to contact my GP surgery.

After being on hold for 30 minutes and being told I was still number four in line, I went to the surgery.

The lady told me they were not involved with booster jabs and told me to wait for a letter from the NHS.

After I pleaded for more help, she got me a Nottingham telephone number so I went home and rang it .

After asking where I lived I was told I could go to Boots. We were done and dusted within an hour and back home having a cup of tea.

Why couldn’t my surgery tell me this information without all the cloak and dagger?
