A bouncy castle, office chair and a pile of nappies are just some of the items found this morning around Ollerton.

A projector, stereo and an empty golf club case were also found in the reed bed near the Sherwood Energy Village during today’s Day of Action in Ollerton.

During the day, the district council team are joining up with community volunteers and partners including Nottinghamshire Police, Ollerton Town Council, Nottinghamshire County Council’s Youth Service and Newark and Sherwood Homes for a dedicated clear-up in the town centre.

The team are installing new litter bins along the Forest Road high street, removing weeds and rubbish, removing graffiti, coordinating a community litter pick and removing fly-posting from central reservations, as well as weed, vegetation and fly-posting removal.

Residents can also get their bikes marked by police officers at a stand outside the Spar shop in the town.

Today's Day of Action, follows five successful days in the last 20 months, including three in Newark and one each in Boughton and Blidworth.
