Newark R&M Cricket Club bowled over by charity fun day success

A fancy dress cricket tournament festival organised by Newark R&M Cricket Club on Sunday was so successful it is planned to hold it again next year.

The event raised money for Beaumond House Hospice Care with a softball cricket tournament in the afternoon and live music in the evening.

The award for the worst fancy dress went to Joe Smith as Robin Hood and the best fancy dress was won by Rueben Straker as a Mafia boss.

Other attractions during the day included stalls of honey and sweets, ale from the Cat House Brewery, and original art work by Nikki Mckay
