A 16-year-old who was stopped and arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place will appear in court in the coming weeks.
The incident took place in Ollerton on Sunday (May 31). The knife is pictured below.
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police said knife crime remained a priority for the force.
"We cannot stress how dangerous carrying a knife is," a spokesperson said.
"This will not be tolerated. Carry a knife and expect to spend a day at court."
