Reader’s letter: Business goes above and beyond

Once again a Newark independent retailer Hobson and Co. of Chain Lane in the town centre has come out trumps.

After I had failed to protect my handsome new suede shoes against the brutal weather, Hobson’s owner and staff stepped in to make good my mistake.

The damage was repaired, the shoes cased in protective scotch guard and for good measure a tube of some supplied at no cost to myself for future use.

All-round, a triumph of service and customer care, I will be shopping there again. – P. DUNCAN, Newark.
