New shop — LYB Melts & More Ltd to open 6-8 Cartergate, Newark on September 21

A new business is set to open its doors in the heart of a town and promises to ‘liven it up a bit’.

Emma Sullivan, of Newark, will be opening LYB Melts & More Ltd on 6-8 Cartergate, Newark on September 21.

After selling her products for two years through the online platform Tiktok at @lyb.melts, now reaching over 4,500 followers on TikTok, Emma has decided to bring her products to a physical shop.

When she first started doing wax melts, Emma was planning to stop at 10 fragrances, however, over the years and after receiving customer requests, the business has now over 600 fragrances.

“Newark doesn't have anything like this, you can buy wax melts in Asda, but you haven't got a shop just for bath and body and wax,” Emma said, “I think it's just something that needs to come to the town, to liven up a bit.

“I prefer one-to-one interactions, and you don’t get that when you’re stuck on a website, you can’t communicate with people.”

The shop will sell a range of products, focusing on highly scented wax melts made by Emma, as well as bath and body products such as bath bombs, body scrubs, and whipped soaps.

There will also be electric burners, incense and incense trays, room sprays, and carpet fresheners.

“The shop is in a prime location, there is plenty of footfall in that area and people know me online so they can come and collect straight from the shop,” Emma said.

“I have got followers in Grantham, and they said they don’t have anything like this there and I have people travelling from there — the furthest that’s coming on the open days is from Newcastle.”

On opening day, from 9am until 5pm or later, customers can take part in a £1 ticket raffle for the chance of winning a £100 hamper.

As a gift her customers, Emma will also be giving the shop’s 100th customer a gift.

The shop will be open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
