Call for clean-up

By NewarkAdvertiser Reporter

Despite vast amounts of money taxed off the public, it is coming to something when citizens have to clear the mountains of rubbish that seems to adorn this town (Business Club Discussion Led To Monthly Litter-pick, Advertiser, July 19).

The council seems to have a full labour force and a vast array of equipment.

However, we are not seeing the results of this investment by us, the public, because that is what we are, we are investors in this town and district.

One only has to drive the length of London Road between Newark and Balderton to see that it does not seem to have had a road sweep this side of Christmas.

Other roads are just as bad.

So please someone from the council explain where their staff are and what they are doing. — Brian Clark, Hayside Avenue, Balderton.
