A group of care home residents were able to enjoy a little bit of sunshine as they took part in National Walk Day.

Last week, Bowbridge Court Care Home residents, family members, and staff decided to get out and about.

A group set off down the road from Newark’s centre to the popular Sconce and Devon Park, and basking in the springtime sunshine.

They even stopped off at Rumbles Café to indulge in a well-deserved ice cream treat.

Resident Pauline, said it was “absolutely lovely” to get out and about, adding: “I really enjoyed the walk in the sun, and the ice creams were really tasty.”

Annabel Shaw, Bowbridge Court Wellbeing Coordinator joined the residents on their walk.

She said: “The weather was on our side.

“The park was open and buzzing with lots of walkers, with and without dogs, and children playing in the fun zone.

“It was the perfect day to get out and enjoy.”
