Cash Machine stolen from Post Office on Queen Street, Southwell





A cash machine has been stole from a Post Office in Southwell.

The attack, which happened on Queen Street, took place at around 5.25am this morning (January 11).

Nottinghamshire Police said: "It’s believed offenders used a chain saw to get into the property and a gas canister to gain access to the machine before taking the cash from inside."

Both Queen Street entrance points (The Ropewalk and Market Place) are currently closed while a police investigation take place.

Kam Nijjar, the stores owner, said: "We're hoping to get the shop open as soon as possible, but there is no certain date yet."

Enquiries are still ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone with any information that could help.
