Nominations open for Newark Business Awards 2019
THE Newark Business Awards are back for 2019.
Nominations are now open and the winners will be announced at a glittering black tie event at the Lady Eastwood Centre, Newark Showground, on Friday, June 21.
The Newark Advertiser is proud to once again be organising this prestigious event, the first one to be held under its parent company, Iliffe Media.
Managing director Richard Parkinson said the awards offered the perfect opportunity for businesses to showcase their work and, at the same time, celebrate their success.
“These awards are about recognising the achievements of local organisations,” he said.
“Newark and district has a thriving business community and we want to celebrate all that it has to offer.
“Not only that, it is the chance for organisations to put themselves in the spotlight — among their peers and the wider community.
“Most importantly, we want these awards to be inclusive for all. We have deliberately chosen categories, such as the social enterprise one, that can reach out to all sectors, so no one is excluded.”
Awards will be given in ten categories:
o Best Start-up
o Employer Of The Year
o Employee/Team Of The Year
o Business Innovation
o Best Independent Retailer
o Businessperson Of The Year
o Customer Care
o Best Social Enterprise
o Business Of The Year: Small
o Business Of The Year: Large
Nominations can be made online from today at newarkbusinessawards.co.uk
All will be independently judged by individuals from sponsoring companies and relevant organisations in the area to make sure the process is completely fair and transparent.
They will then be visited by the category judges over a six-week period, where they will be interviewed before a category winner is decided.
All finalists will receive two free tickets to the final at the Newark Showground, which is expected to be attended by around 400 people.
Guest speaker for the evening will be inspirational fundraiser and campaigner Claire Lomas, who, despite being paralysed from the chest down, completed the London Marathon in 17 days wearing a robotic suit.
The ceremony will include a three-course dinner, followed by dancing.
