Changes to council bin collections over Christmas 2024 and New Year 2024/25 in Newark and Sherwood, Rushcliffe and South Kestevan
Councils have announced changes to bin collections scheduled over the Christmas and New Year period.
These changes will mean residents may need to place their bins out on an alternative day to their regular collections.
Christmas can produce a lot of waste and residents are also reminded to check packaging and gift wrapping paper is recyclable to ensure it is disposed of correctly.
Newark and Sherwood District Council:

Collections due to take place on December 24 (Christmas Eve) and December 25 (Christmas Day), will each be collected a day early.
Collections scheduled for December 26 (Boxing Day), December 27, January 1 (New Year’s Day), January 2, January 3, will instead take place on the following day.
All other collection days will remain unaffected.
Residents are asked to ensure bins are out for collection by 6:00am, as waste teams cannot return to collect bins that are not presented on the correct day.

In Rushcliffe, residents are asked to ensure bins are presented by 7am, on the edge of their property on the new collection date.
