Woodborough Green Garden Centre brightens up Christmas for Home-Start Nottingham with reindeer giveaway
A garden centre has donated a light-up reindeer to a charity as part of its Christmas Magic community campaign.
The campaign, run by British Garden Centres, asked residents from the area to nominate a worthy group, garden, charity or hospice that has gone above and beyond to receive the reindeer to light up the community and spread festive cheer.
Home Start Nottingham, a community network of trained volunteers and expert support helping families with young children through their challenging times, was the nominated charity.
John Leivers nominated Home-Start Nottingham for the competition. He said: " Home-Start Nottingham is a small local charity that supports families with children under 5 years old.
“They have volunteers who visit families and provide support to parents who may be finding parenting difficult and emotional and also hold events and support groups throughout the year for families to attend.
“They would love this reindeer to take out to events they put on over the Christmas period for families.
“The young children of the families would think this is amazing. “
The project and development manager at British Garden Centres, Amy Stubbs said that the teams were incredibly proud of the role the garden centre plays in the communities and highlited its importance at this time of the year.
She added: “We are delighted to donate this light reindeer as a symbol of joy, Christmas magic, and community spirit during the festive season.”
