Newark Advertiser reader letters: Cheaper energy on the way?

Genuine question that I am curious to know the answer to — will we ever see cheaper electricity as a result of solar farms and wind turbines?

Driving along the back roads to Bingham at the weekend when the A46 was closed, I was struck at the volume of solar farms and turbines scattered along the route, and obviously many more are in the pipeline.

Not going into the argument about the environmental advantages, when might we see the benefit in our pockets? — R. Miller, via email.
