Newark Motorfinity released a Christmas Advert focusing on the plight of a homeless veteran at Christmas

A motor company released a Christmas advert focusing on the plight of a homeless veteran at Christmas.

Motorfinity, a company passionate about supporting several veteran charities each year, worked together with videographer Scott Driver, showcasing people from the area and Newark itself.

The advert was used to share strong messages relating to small acts of kindness leading to bigger outcomes, raising our children to be kind and respectful, and the importance of connecting veterans with veterans.

“As a filmmaker who aims to tell important stories, it was a pleasure to work alongside Motorfinity to create this advert,” said Scott Driver.

He has recently finished working on a short film focused on the struggles of Army soldiers after service.

He interviewed several veterans who talked about their experiences of transitioning back to civilian life after serving in the Army.

He added: “For the average person, it might not seem like such a difficult task but for those who have served, the trauma and life changing events that may have happened whilst serving are not easy to move on from.

“I was also keen to create this advert in my hometown of Newark with Newark-based actors and creatives. The locations are familiar places around the town.”

Over the last year, Team Motorfinity has collaborated with Newark Patriotic Fund to help raise awareness of their existence and fundraise in support of their work.

Dean Skiba, chief operating officer said: “Small gestures are so important, one small act of kindness can be a catalyst for great things.

“The creation of this year’s Motorfinity Christmas advert brought tears to my eyes.

“I know it’s not easy for anyone who is homeless let alone our precious Veterans, and I know that many have complex needs, but let us always have hope that we can make a difference with even the smallest deed.”

Newark Patriotic Fund offers a wide range of support for veterans and their families. Breakfast Club will be open as usual on Boxing Day with bacon butties, hot drinks, and military banter.
