A church has won national awards for doing its bit towards helping the environment.

Holy Trinity Church, Southwell, earned bronze and silver awards in the Eco Church project, run by international conservation organisation A Rocha UK, run in partnership with Christian Aid, the Church of England, the Methodist Church and Tearfund.

The congregation is involved in a range of initiatives, including setting up an allotment and planting a fruit orchard.
