80th anniversary of Battle of Britain commemorated at Newark Parish Church on Sunday

Civic dignitaries gathered at the war memorial by Newark Parish Church on Sunday in a low-key commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Town clerk Alan Mellor said: “The town council took the difficult decision to cancel the traditional commemorative service in the current coronavirus position."
