Club’s pictures prove popular

A total of 13 paintings were sold during an art club exhibition on Saturday.

About 70 framed pictures and 35 mounted pictures by 18 members of Newark Art Club were on show at Fernwood Village Hall.

Every year, the club stages exhibitions outside Newark town centre. The work displayed was in various mediums.

The treasurer, Mrs Linda Geeson, said: “The facilities were lovely and nine artists sold paintings.

“It helped the people in the club to gain a bit of confidence.”

The club is made up of people who enjoy art as a hobby. They help each other. There is no formal teaching.
