Newark firm Travel Wright prepare to run two day trips this month

Customers have shown their confidence in a Newark travel firm as it prepares for its first day trips in months.

Travel Wright is running two day trips this month — and has had to put on an extra coach for one, as it has proved so popular with customers.

Two coaches will now be heading for Skegness on Thursday, August 27.

Each coach will be less than half full, to allow for social distancing.

The company has taken extra measures to keep passengers and drivers safe. This has included buying three disinfectant fogging machines to deep clean its vehicles for every trip.

Passengers will be asked to wear face coverings and use hand sanitisers.

Director and tour manager David Wright said: “Bookings for the trips have gone well and we are pleased about that. Our customers have been great.

“Normally we would have fitted everyone on one coach, but we can’t do that safely, so we will be running two.”

The second day trip, to Stamford and Springfields shopping outlet on Friday August 28, is almost full.

More day trips are planned for September and October, and the first holiday tour is to Wales on September 10.

Travel Wright, which has 12 buses and 18 coaches, went into lockdown in March, with only limited school and service buses starting to run recently.
