Aviation enthusiast event Cockpit-Fest 2025 to return to Newark Air Museum, off A46 in Nottinghamshire, on June 21 and 22, for 25th year

A popular aviation event is preparing to return for its 25th time, and promises to have a record turnout of displays to see.

Arrangements for Cockpit-Fest 2025 are well underway, with Newark Air Museum’s site just off the A46 near Newark Showground, set to play host to the event over the weekend of June 21 and 22.

This years marks the the 25th time that like-minded enthusiasts have come together to display their aircraft cockpit sections at the museum, which is based on part of the former site of RAF Winthorpe.

With more than 40 visiting cockpits and airframes due to attend the event — including military jet cockpits, helicopters and civilian aircraft types — the museum will have a record number of displays to view.

In addition, 19 visiting aviation related exhibits will be displayed indoors, with 20 special outdoor displays spread across the 16-acre site.

Alongside Cockpit-Fest an aeroboot/aerojumble sale will be held, allowing enthusiasts and the public to browse and buy a wide range of aviation and avionics artefacts, books, and models from the 37 sellers.

Visitors are encouraged to have a say in deciding which is the best cockpit on the day, by voting on their favourite and from these results, prizes will be awarded.

Local history groups, re-enactors, and even more aviation related displays such as clothing and historical artefacts will also be on display.
