That, added to limited hot water having an impact on the school kitchens meant two days off for years seven eight and nine.

It meant massive inconvenience for parents who had to make arrangements at short notice for their children to be looked after.

The Grove is doing all it can to minimise disruption and is working to ensure examinations that are taking place are not affected.

Schools minister Lord Hill will visit the Grove, Orchard and Magnus schools on Tuesday.

He will see for himself just why the Grove is regarded as being in the worst condition of any school in Nottinghamshire and why major investment is so desperately needed at all three.
