An initiative has been launched at Ollerton’s Asda to help the store work more closely with the community.

Mr Paul Footitt has been appointed the store community life champion as part of the scheme.

To mark the launch of Community Life, Mr Footitt and other staff dressed as characters from Robin Hood and cycled more than 25 miles on an exercise bike to raise money for charity.

Money raised in store in the next two months will be donated to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, Dukeries College, and Ollerton Stroke Club.

Mr Footitt said he would help local groups, encouraging staff and the public to get involved.

An Asda Community Centre has been set up in store for groups to meet, and a Community Life board is at the front of the store to let customers know about community activities taking place.
