Collingham Food Pantry to move from Lincolnshire Co-op building to The Allotment Deli and Kitchen in Gusto House
A well-known community group is set to move after being generously offered space by a nearby business.
Collingham Food Pantry will be moving from its current premises in the old Lincolnshire Co-op building in Collingham down the road to The Allotment Kitchen and Deli which is situated in Gusto House.
The new premises is also located in Collingham which means that the food pantry will still be situated in the community it serves.
Gemma Whitelock who runs The Allotment has previously worked with the Collingham Food Pantry raising money through different initiatives for the organisation.
"As we are closed to the public on a Monday at The Allotment it just made sense to support the food pantry with providing somewhere for them to pack their food parcels each week,” said Gemma.
“We already have a close relationship with the Food Pantry and have used particular items on our menu since opening to help raise much needed funds to support the essential work that they do.
“We look forward to developing further joint projects and providing further support for local families in need as a result of this joint venture."
"We have been very fortunate to use the old Lincolnshire Co-op building in Collingham for nearly three years for free," said a spokesman from the food pantry.
"We would like to thank Lincolnshire Co-op for your fantastic support of our work.
"We will be moving to The Allotment in Collingham thanks to the generous support of Gemma Whitelock.
"You can find us there on Mondays from 8am until 10am.
"You can still drop your donations at OneStop Collingham or Collingham Lincolnshire Co-op during their opening hours.
"We know our volunteers will be grateful to be in the cafe for its heat, lighting, and coffee."
