The community help injured Southwell City player Ed Munton who suffered a broken leg against Leicester St Andrews in the United Counties League Division One
A football player who broke his leg on Saturday (December 16) has undergone his third operation since the incident.
Ed Munton who plays for Southwell City in the United Counties League Division One competition was injured in the game against Leicester St Andrew's and the match was called off soon after.
Ed has undergone the most recent operation to relieve blood pressure in his calf.
He is in good spirits considering the circumstances and said he has been overwhelmed by all the messages of support that he has received.
Ed is due for another operation and is expected to be in hospital until the weekend.
The community has gathered around Ed and shown a lot of generousity in his time of need.
The Zebras manager Jonny Upton started a GoFundMe page that generated over £5,000 for the self-employed electrician in just 36 hours.
The total is now around £6,000 at the time of publication and given that it will be a long recovery for Ed, donations are still welcome.
