PS Renewables and Ørsted extend consultation for One Earth Solar Farm in north Nottinghamshire
Residents will now have more time to express their concerns and ask questions about solar farm plans after ongoing consultation has been extended.
One Earth Solar Farm is a proposed solar farm primarily located in north Nottinghamshire, and would connect into the National Grid at High Marnham substation.
Due to the upcoming General Election, the developers have chosen to extend its consultation by an additional two weeks to allow anyone who is interested in the project to take part.
This statutory consultation is now running for eight weeks, and will end on Tuesday, July 23.
Last year the developers behind the project, PS Renewables and Ørsted, hosted a first round of consultation on their early proposals for One Earth.
Feedback from the first consultation, as well as the results of ongoing environmental and technical assessments led to updated proposals which are now the subject of the current consultation.
Several key changes from the initial design include efforts to reduce visual impact to villages and homes near the project boundary, such as the removal of solar panels to develop set-backs from properties and adding landscaping to create natural visual screening.
Matt Hazell, co-owner of PS Renewables said: “We appreciate that the election may prevent some individuals from being able to engage with our consultation.
“We want to ensure that everyone who has an interest in One Earth has the opportunity to learn about our updated proposals and provide feedback, which is why we have decided to extend the consultation.”
During the eight-week consultation period, there are a variety of opportunities to learn more about the updated proposals, including in-person events in locations across the local area and online,
The developers have already hosted events where individuals can meet the project team, ask questions, and provide their feedback.
Several in-person and webinar information event have already been hosted by the developers, with one more in-person event planned for this Saturday (June 29), from 12pm to 4pm, at Coronation Hall in South Clifton.
A final webinar session will also be hosted on Wednesday, July 3, from 6pm to 7pm, with attendees encouraged to register online via: oneearthsolarfarm.co.uk
