The search is on for Newark’s Chocolate Champion 2010.

The title is currently held by Newark accountant Mr Malcolm Ellison, who plans to defend it.

There are three classes this year — children under-14, children over-15 and adults, excluding those who earn a living from cooking, from which an overall champion will be selected.

The competition, to create a dish using chocolate, is being run by Newark community radio station Boundary Sound.

Entries must be registered by August 16 and the finished dish delivered to the radio station on Castlegate, Newark, between 9.30am and 10am on August 22 for judging.

The winner will be crowned at the Newark Food And Drink Fair to be held that day.
