Newark and Sherwood District Council advise that there may be disruptions to bin collections due to flooding from Storm Babet

A council has asked for understanding after advising residents that there may be disruption to tomorrow's bin collections.

"Please be aware that there may be some disruption to tomorrow’s bin collections," said a Newark and District Council spokesman.

"Due to the ongoing flooding and Environment Agency predictions that water levels will continue to rise through the rest of today and into the night, We will do our best to get to everyone with a scheduled collection.

"If areas are unreachable, we will put on special collections as soon as safely possible.

"Please note that even though roads may seem fine in your immediate area, our teams will be travelling to you.

"If roads on the route are impassable or unsafe, they will not be able to do so."
